Northwest Crossing

One of the many reasons people are buying homes in Northwest Crossing is the sense of community.  Northwest Crossing has a strong feeling of community.  It's situated on the popular west side of the town of Bend Oregon.  They have a community garden.  The resident community garden was built by the developer of Northwest Crossing, West Bend Property Company, and is managed by the OSU Extension Service Master Gardener program. It's located on the corner of NW Crossing Drive and Charbonneau Street, near Discovery Park Lodge and Summit High School.

Nearly 50 families participate in the garden each year.  The garden features cedar, raised beds with irrigation and is enclosed by an eight-foot tall wire fence. Both La Rosa and Portello Winecafé, restaurants in Northwest Crossing, participate in the community garden. They feature fresh produce grown in their garden plot on their summer menus.

They have an annual spring fest which features booths with art, crafts, food and other exhibitions. At the heart of Northwest Crossing Bend Spring Festival are the artisans and craftspeople that will present a lively mix of original work, including a highlight on imagery and materials derived from cycling and recycling. It is also a great place to start planning ahead for outdoor entertaining with garden art.

Part of the spring fest is wine and music with the Cascade School of Music Art and Wine Bop! The Cascade School of Music faculty will perform, free wine samples will be served, and hand-selected, festival artists will be featured, all within the cozy, warm, and covered confines of various Northwest Crossing Neighborhood Center merchants and restaurants. Mama Bear Oden’s Preschool will offer free childcare during the bop.

There's also a Farmers market each summer. This exciting outdoor market takes place in the Northwest Crossing Neighborhood Center and boasts live music and a variety of vendors and artisans. Everything from fresh, artisan cheese and eggs, to orchard-fresh fruit and berries, herbs, meat, organic skincare products and so much more!

The events to bring the community together go on and on at Northwest Crossing.
